The Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology is an international, blind peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes original Research papers, Preliminary communications, Scientific notes, Reviews, Professional papers and Conference papers on current topics in all areas of food science and technology.
Focus and Scope
The Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology (CJFST) is an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing novel and high-quality research papers that advance the food science and technology. The Aims and Scope are assessed and modified on an annual basis to reflect developments in the field. In addition to research papers, CJFST also publishes Review articles, Preliminary communication articles, Scientific notes, Professional papers and Conference papers.
We especially welcome papers related to a wide range of food science and technology topics from Central and Southeast Europe.
The scope of the CJFST includes, but is not limited to: Processing of agricultural products and foods; Microbiology and biotechnology; Food quality and safety; Food chemistry and toxicology; Sensory, nutritional and physiological aspects of food; Nutrition; Functional food and nutraceuticals; Food additives; Food packaging, storage and distribution; Food laws and regulations; Food and process engineering; Design and operation of processes; Freshwater science; Environmental science; Separation processes; Biomass and Bio-energy; Waste management.
Submission Checklist

- All necessary files will be uploaded:
Manuscript:
- Include keywords
- All figures (include relevant captions)
- All tables (including titles, descriptions, footnotes)
- Ensure all figure and table citations in the text match the files provided
Further considerations:
- The manuscript has been 'spell checked' and 'grammar checked'
- All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
- Journal policies detailed in this guide have been reviewed
- Referee suggestions and contact details provided, based on journal requirements
Copyright Notice
Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a 'Copyright Transfer Statement' (see more information on this). Permitted third-party reuse of open access articles is determined by the author's choice of user license.
Peer Review
Decisions are based on the quality and relevance of the article to researchers and readers. In the decision-making process, the editor consults with reviewers, editorial board members, and the scientific advisory board, adhering to the principles of double-anonymous peer review.

Publication Fees
The Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology is a diamond open-access journal and does not charge APC (Article Processing Charges) or submission fees to authors and is supported by the Foundation of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
